Escape from Pretoria

Based on a true story, Escape From Pretoria stars Daniel Radcliffe as a white anti-apartheid activist who escapes from one of South Africa’s toughest jails. Written and directed by Francis Annan, and based on the autobiography of Tim Jenkins, Escape from Pretoria is the true-life story of political prisoners Tim Jenkin (Daniel Radcliffe) and Stephen Lee (Daniel Webber), who were incarcerated for their part in anti-apartheid operations for the ANC.

The film follows Jenkins and Lee as they hatch a plot, along with other prisoners, to break out of the notorious Pretoria Prison. After months of planning, and in a dramatic race against time as the authorities strengthen the prison security, they craft wooden keys for the numerous steel doors between them and freedom.
