Martin has been involved in the release of over 900 feature films for cinema, video, DVD or television during his 25+ years in the industry. He began his career at Palace Pictures, as marketing manager in distribution and acquisitions, and was involved in the successful release of films such as Scandal, Paris, Texas and When Harry Met Sally.
Seven years later Martin went on to become a founding Director of Metro Tartan, where as head of both Theatrical and Video Acquisitions and Marketing, he was largely responsible for turning the business into the leading indie film distribution business in the UK. He subsequently became Head of Theatrical Distribution and Acquisitions at Electric Pictures/Alliance Atlantis UK, and then launched Downtown Pictures where he successfully released over 25 features, including two Oscar winners: Gods & Monsters and Steven Spielberg's The Last Days.
Following that, he established a new media venture with a focus on television, theatrical features and new media production and specialised industry consultation. Clients have included Sky TV, Ogilvy, BP, EMI, Virgin TV, Walt Disney Pictures UK, European Space Agency and UKTV.
He is currently the Executive Producer on ESCAPE FROM PRETORIA starring Daniel Radcliffe, as well as A GIFT FROM BOB, and Paul Schrader’s celebrated comeback, the multi-award winning FIRST REFORMED starring Ethan Hawke and Amanda Seyfried. He is a founding director of the London-based film production investment firm Omeira Studio Partners and Co-Managing Director of Enriched Media Group.
